This old warehouse no longer exists. It was torn down to make room for the new Convention Center expansion.

There was a well-worn path thought the trash and weeds to a side door that clung to a lone hinge. I had no way of knowing how many people lived in the warehouse, but the array of open and closed windows would change day to day, a telling sign of habitation.

From across the street, I sat in my car and studied the brick wall and steel framed windows. I tried to imagine the view of the same wall and windows from the inside. I couldn’t.
